Ilkka Korhonen received his DrTech in biomedical signal processing from Tampere University of Technology (1998). He is currently a Technology Manager in Knowledge Intensive Services at the VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland. He is a Docent in Medical Informatics in Tampere University of Technology, Finland, a founding member of IEEE/EMBS Technical Committee on Wearable Biomedical Sensors and Systems, and member of IEEE/EMBS AdCom. His main research interests include use of ICT for health and wellness, Personal Health Systems, and biosignal interpretation methods, and their application in health promotion, population health and disease management, eHealth/mHealth, and critical care patient monitoring. He has published >100 original papers in international scientific journals and conference proceedings, and has several patents in the area.
